Chromosomal Defect and Mutation

The Chromosome that is affected in the karyotype of a person afflicted with XYY syndrome is the Y chromosome. In a person with XYY syndrome, there are two Y chromosomes instead of one. During the formation of the embryo, anon-disjunction mutation occurs, and thus two Y chromosomes are in each cell.[1]
